Roller To achieve a professional textured finish using a roller, a coarse textured foam roller will offer a uniform raised pattern similar to the spatter effect achieved with spray equipment. We recommend a 4 inch roller size for ease of use, as well as the ability to reach smaller areas such as internal baffles in speakers, or handles and recesses on flight cases.

Introduction Armacab Paint is a high-quality coating designed for professional speaker enclosures and flight case manufacture. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for applying Armacab Speaker Paint using a textured roller Required Equipment Armacab Paint Textured Roller Paint Tray Clean lint-free cloths Personal protective equipment (PPE) (gloves, respirator, safety goggles) Masking tape and paper (if necessary) Spatula or stirrer General Preparation Work in a well-ventilated area with minimal dust. Use drop cloths or masking tape to protect surfaces from splashes and spills. Ensure proper lighting to detect any application inconsistencies. Surface Preparation Ensure the speaker enclosure or flight case is sanded smooth, and any joints or fixings are filled and sanded to prevent them showing through the coating. Once sanded, clean the speaker enclosure thoroughly to remove dust, grease, or debris. This can be done using a compressed air blow gun for optimal results, or by wiping the surface with a clean, lint-free cloth. Mask any areas with masking tape that do not need to be coated. Paint Preparation Armacab is self-priming, and is formulated to be used straight from the tin with little or no preparation needed. If the product has been stored for any length of time, some separation may occur. To mix the product, use a clean dry spatula or stirrer, and hand mix until all components are fully dispersed. Armacab Paint is a highly viscous coating, and its normal appearance/consistency is thick and semi-congealed. If you need to thin the product, this can be done using water up to 5%. PLEASE NOTE - thinning the product will affect the ability create a texture coat, so please add water in small amounts

Application Method First Coat 1. Apply a moderately thick even coat using steady, overlapping layers. • Load the roller from a tray. • Roll using an even pressure. • Alternate the direction of rolling. 2. Allow the first coat to flash off (dry to a tack-free state) before applying additional coats – typically 20-40 minutes according to atmospheric conditions. Second Coat • Repeat the actions of coat one until a satisfactory coverage is achieved. • Ensure there are no areas of wood still exposed. • Check for areas of wood grain texture still showing, and coat again if necessary. 3. Allow the second coat to flash off (dry to a tack-free state) before applying texture coat– typically 20-40 minutes according to atmospheric conditions. Texture Coat 4. Load the roller from a try and apply an even layer over the two base coats. 5. Continue to use the roller over the new layer, even after the roller is empty of paint to raise the surface of the coating, creating a texture pattern. 6. Allow to air dry for 10 minutes, until the paint has semi-dried. 7. After 10 minutes, use the dry roller without any paint to go over the texture coat again. This should raise the surface texture if it has settled and flattened a little. 8. Once the first texture layer has dried, repeat these steps until the level of texture you require has been achieved.

Drying and Curing Dry time is dependent on atmospheric conditions, but will typically be between 20 and 40 minutes in ambient temperatures, and with gentle air movement. To speed up the drying time, allow free flowing air to pass over the product, either by using a fan, or allowing your spray booth to draw air across the surface. Additionally, warm air will speed this process up further. Avoid handling until the paint has fully cured.

USER GUIDE - Textured Roller Cleanup and Maintenance Clean the roller and tray immediately after using clean water. Dispose of excess paint according to local regulations. Store Armacab Speaker Paint in a cool, dry place with a tightly sealed lid. Safety Precautions Always wear appropriate PPE – gloves, mask and eye protection. Work in a ventilated area. The product is solvent and odour free. Follow manufacturer guidelines for safe handling and disposal.
